“EVS PROMENADE 99”
The overall aim of this Seminar is to promote the development of quality EVS projects and mentorship in order to support the needs of the organisation and its international partners in EVS PROMENADE 99 for international project partners, youth workers, project managers and young people for the support of Intercultural Youth Work Activities in the frame of the programme "YOUTH in ACTION (YIA)".
The specific objectives of the Seminar are:
to explore the aims of EVS;
to find out how EVS activities match the needs and resources of the participating organisations;
to experience a quality EVS project,
to develop skills useful for running an EVS project;
to become inspired to do EVS projects.
to create training tools for EVS mentors in order to strengthen qualities of EVS
To promote European Voluntary Service and increase its effectiveness therefore, the seminar will focus on sharing the experiences of sending, hosting and coordinating organisations and mentors of EVS how to use the EVS programme and for which challenges they have to be prepared cooperating in a common volunteer project with participation of 12 countries from YOUTH IN ACTION PROGRAMME COUNTRIES 27 MEMBER STATES
AND FROM ONE GROUP OF FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: South East Europe, Eastern Europe and Caucasus, Mediterranean Partner Countries.
The project EVS Promenade 99 will be 8 days lasting seminar with 3 PARTICIPANTS FROM EACH COUNTRY MAXIMUM AND 38 participants in Ankara, Turkey, providing an opportunity for organisations to find future EVS sending, hosting partners and raising qualified mentors.
Literally EVS Promenade 99 project rises from the idea of bringing all the sides of EVS into an intercultural and multilingual promenade. To meet the partners personally, and to get to know each other better in order to: share ideas; share different experiences of how youth work plans out country by country; learn about the methods used to motivate youngsters for active participation.
The Youth Seminar on EVS Promenade 99 focuses on tools, methods and best practice in ensuring quality standards for European Voluntary Service activities and mentorship in cooperation with the development of the cooperation between program countries and neighboring partner countries within YOUTH in ACTION (YIA). In order to put their side onto the seminar 5 EVS Volunteers of Youth Caravan from Hungary, Spain, Germany, Greece and Latvia will also participate in the project.
The project will be implemented in Ankara on 13-20 March, 2010.
Our main aim is to bring all related parties in EVS, hosting+sending+coorinating+ mentors+volunteers to search, discuss and share in a detailed frame of how to achieve BEST EVS for all parties.
Financial Conditions:
1. %70 percent of travel cost will be reimbursed
2. Full accomodation (hotel + meals + transport in city)
