What to do?We can offer the young volunteers the opportunity of learning and participating in:
_in getting to know and explore the social reality in which they will be immersed through their EVS.
_to carry out action programs with adolescents and young people
_in working as a team with youth technicians and experts in the field
_to express themselves in orally and in written Spanish (developing linguistic competences)
_to become familiar with all the programmes related to youth offered in our municipality: employment, health and gender, housing, social, citizenship, tourism, European. Etc.
_in getting involved in the preparation and implementation of programs for participation in youth associations, leisure and free time, etc.
_using new information technologies (sms, web,...)
_to develop social and civic skills,
_to develop an initiative spirit participating in different youth activities ,
_to become aware and get to know the Spanish culture,
The volunteers will be supported by professionals involved in the EVS project, from different disciplines: trainers, social-cultural animators, free time instructors, etc.
They will also take part in the management and execution of programs, events and activities programmed during their EVS.
The volunteers could take part in:
-Dissemination and promotion of the activities that will take place during their EVS, taking part in: talks, poster sticking, information in neighborhoods, youth houses, schools, etc..
-Support to the organization, administration and management of the programs: workshops, leisure activities, with young people, updating the database, helping young people filling in application forms, helping to organize activities within the programs.
_Starting off socio-cultural entertainment activities with children and Young people in the Programs of "Botica del libro" and "La Caja del tiempo", games library, dining room, Spanish workshop, little school, etc.
The volunteers are welcomed to contribute their knowledge, culture, language, interests and motivations to subjects of European citizenship, young people in the EU, cultural identity etc, as part of a non formal education activity for other young people.
Who can apply?Young person 18-29 years old (only male!)
Has some international experience
Has passport to go abroad
Has good English and at least some Spanish
The profile of the volunteers is that of a young person interested in youth programs in general, and in the problems of social discrimination and social exclusion in particular. They should also be interested in taking part with other young people in activities to promote European awareness.
Financial conditions: Travel, visa-costs, accommodation and small pocket money as well as language course will be provided by organizations
